'One Health' pilot project launched in Bengaluru

On June 28, 2022, the Ministry of Dairying and Animal Husbandry launched the 'One Health' pilot project in Bengaluru.
“One Health Pilot Project” was launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as implementation partners.
This health project is being implemented in Uttarakhand and Karnataka.
The One Health pilot project will bring together stakeholders from human, animal and environmental health to develop solutions to prevent future zoonotic disease outbreaks such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
The success of this pilot project will help the Centre develop a national 'One Health' roadmap.
The roadmap will be equipped with better feedback mechanisms and management.
It will also incorporate world best practices.
