SS Mundra appointed new chairman of BSE

Approval has been given for the appointment of SS Mundra as the new Chairman of BSE Limited. Mundra was earlier Public Interest Director in BSE.

  • SS Mundra will replace the current chairman of BSE, Justice Vikramjit Sen.

  • On 30 July 2017, Mundra retired as a deputy of the Reserve Bank of India after a tenure of three years.

  • He has a banking career spanning over four decades and has held several important positions. These include -

  • Union Bank of India - Executive Director

  • Bank of Baroda - Chief Executive (European Operations)

  • OECD's International Network- Vice President on Financial Education (INFE).

  • He has also served on the boards of several companies such as:

  • Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL)

  • Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL)

  • IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company Limited

  • India Infrastructure Finance Corporation (UK) Limited

  • National Payments Corporation of India Limited, etc.
