  • Named after Alois Alzheimer, a German psychiatrist, the disease is a neurological disorder that affects memory, thinking, and behaviour.

  • Alzheimer's Disease International was formed in 1984 and on its tenth founding day in 1994, 21 September, it was decided to start World Alzheimer's Day.

  • World Alzheimer’s Month started in 2012.
