In UP's Farrukhabad 'Jail Ka Khana' gets 5 star rating

Fatehgarh Central Jail in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district has been given a five-star rating by the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for the quality of food served to inmates.

IMPORTANT FACTS -

  • A third party audit empaneled by the FSSAI awarded the prison a five-star 'Eat Right Certificate'.
  • The five star rating is a recognition of the quality and hygiene of the food, which means that quality food items are being provided to the inmates in the jail.

  • FSSAI's 'Eat Right' recognition indicates that 1,100 prisoners were given clean and nutritious food.

  • The jail is the first in the state to get this certificate.
