Adani Commissions India's First Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Plant Of 390 MW In Rajasthan's Jaisalmer

Recently Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer One Limited, a unit of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), has started operation of a 390 MW wind and solar hybrid power plant at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
It is India's first wind-solar hybrid power generation plant.
Integrated hybrid power plants, through solar and wind power generation, will harness the full potential of renewable energy and provide a more reliable solution to meet the growing electricity demand.
Energy Purchase Agreement has been signed with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for this new power plant at a tariff rate of 2.69 per kWh which is much lower than the Nationally Average Energy Purchase Charge (APPC).
With the commencement of operations from this plant, the operational capacity of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has increased to 5.8 GW.
National Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy
The draft National Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy 2016 was released by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on 14 June 2016.
The main objective of this policy is to provide a framework for promoting large grid-connected wind-solar photo-voltaic hybrid systems.
Target: Achieving 10 GW of wind-solar hybrid capacity by 2022.
