  • Dr. Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888, he was the first Vice President and second President of India.

  • He is known for his remarkable work as a teacher, philosopher and scholar.

  • Since 1962, 5th September has been celebrated as Teacher's Day in India to honour Radhakrishnan's remarkable vision towards education and students.

  • On this day, students show their respect to teachers in their own way.

  • World Teacher's Day is celebrated on 5 October every year.

  • In the year 1994, UNESCO recognized the celebration of 5 October as World Teacher's Day to appreciate the work of teachers.
