1. India win the SAFF U 18 WOMEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2022 title

The Indian women's team emerged as champion of the 3rd South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-18 Women’s Championship 2022. This is the first time India has won this title.
India was crowned champion on a better goal difference as compared to Bangladesh. India enjoyed a better goal difference of +11 in comparison to +3 of Bangladesh.
The highest goal scorer of the championship, Lynda Kom of India was declared the most valuable player of the tournament. She scored 5 goals in the championship.
The SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship 2022 was held in JRD Tata sports complex, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand from 15 to 25 March 2022.
Three teams India, Bangladesh and Nepal participated in the championship.
SAFF (South Asian Football Federation)
The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) is an organization working to develop and make football more accessible for everyone within the South Asian region.
SAFF was formed in 1997 by founding Member Associations from Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and SriLanka.

2. India won two medals at the WTT Contender Doha 2022

Indian Table Tennis players won two medals at the recently concluded World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender Doha 2022. The WTT Contender took place at Lusail Sports Arena, Doha from 21-24 March 2022.
Medal winners for India
G Sathiyan and Manika Batra finished as runner-up in the mixed doubles of WTT Contender Doha 2022, losing to the top-seeded Chinese Taipei pair of Lin Yun-Ju and Cheng I-Ching.
Achanta Sharath Kamal won the bronze medal in the men’s singles after he lost the semi final match against Yuan Licen of China.

Dang Qiu of Germany won the gold medal by defeating the Chinese player Yuan Licen in final
Women’s Singles Final
Fan Siqi of China won the gold medal by defeating the fellow Chinese Zhang Rui in the final
Men’s Doubles Final
The Swedish pair of Kristian Karlsson/Mattias Falck won the gold medal by defeating the German pair of Ricardo Walther/Killian Ort in the final .
Women’s Doubles Final
The Japanese pair of Miyuu Kihara/Miyu Nagasaki won the gold medal by defeating the Chinese pair of Huang Yi-Hua/Chen Szu-Yu in the final.
3. 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships

The 18th World Athletics Indoor Championships was held from 18 to 20 March 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia. World's top athletes participated in a total of 26 events.
Shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor, Long jumper M Sreeshankar and Sprinter Dutee Chand represented India at the event.
The United States won the highest number of medals (19) whereas Ethiopia won the highest number of Gold (4).
The World Athletics Indoor Championships is held every two years and the first was held in 1985 at Paris, France.
The 19th World Athletics Indoor Championship will be held in Nanjing China in 2023
The 20th Championship will be held in Glasgow, Great Britain, in 2024.
The World Athletics Indoor Championships are a biennial indoor track and field competition.
It is Organised by the World Athletics formerly known as the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
4. Byju’s named the official sponsor of Fifa World Cup 2022 in Qatar

Indian education technology firm Byju’s has been named an official sponsor of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Byju has become the first Indian company to be a sponsor of the FIFA men’s football world cup.
The Bengaluru-based firm is also a sponsor for the Indian cricket team
The FIFA Men’s World Cup is scheduled to kick off from November 21 this year in Qatar. The final match of the global tournament will be played on December 18. It is the most prestigious tournament in football, organised every four years, and is one of the biggest sporting events and the biggest single-sport event in the world.

5. Ravindra Jadeja replaces MS Dhoni as the new CSK Skipper

Ravindra Jadeja will replace Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the Captain of the Chennai Superking(CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. M.S Dhoni who has captained CSK team since the start of IPL in 2008 has voluntarily stepped down as the captain of CSK.
Under Dhoni the CSK team has emerged as one of the the most successful teams in the IPL winning four titles in the nine finals they have reached.

6. Shimla to get India’s first National Centre for Mountain Terrain Biking

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the Youth Services and Sports department of the Government of Himachal Pradesh is set to build India’s first-ever Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Centre of Excellence(NCOE) to train athletes in Mountain Terrain Biking and Bicycle Motocross in Shimla.
There are 18 Olympic Medals for Mountain Terrain Biking and Bicycle Motocross.
The NCOE, which will have the capacity to train around 200 cyclists for Olympic-level preparations.

World No 1, Australian tennis player, Ashleigh Barty stunned the tennis world on Wednesday by retiring from the sport aged just 25 citing fatigue, lack of motivation as the reasons behind her decision.
Her decision came weeks after becoming the first home Australian Open champion in 44 years

9. FIDE bans Russian Chess Grandmaster Sergey Karjakin for supporting Russian Invasion of Ukraine.

The World Chess governing body FIDE has suspended the Russian chess player Sergey Karjakin for 6 months for his support of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
Karjakin who was the runner up in the 2016 World Chess championship to Magnus Carlssen of Norway.
He also held the record of being the youngest chess Grandmaster at the age of 12 years and seven months, which was broken by American Abhimanyu Mishra, who became Grandmaster at the age of 12 years 4 months and 25 days.

10. Asia Cup Cricket 2022 will be held in Sri Lanka

At the annual Asian Cricket Council meeting held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 19 March 2022, decided that the Asia Cup 2022 (T20 Format) will be held in Sri Lanka from August 27-September 11 2022.
All five Test teams - hosts Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh - will take part in the tournament while one more Asian side will be decided after a qualifying tournament which will be held from 20 August 2022.
The Asia Cup, which usually alternates between ODI and T20I formats, was last played in 2018 and won by India.
The next edition in 2020 was postponed due to covid -19 and it will finally be held in 2022 in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan is scheduled to host the Asian Championship in 2023.
Defending champions India are the most successful team in Asia Cup, winning it seven times including the lone T20I edition in 2016 while Sri Lanka have won the competition five times.
