2. Ishan Kishan the highest priced player at the IPL 2022

Wicket- keeper batsman Ishan Kishan was bought by Mumbai India for Rs 15.25 crores. He became the highest priced player for the 15th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Deepak Chahar was the second highest priced player and he was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 Crore.

Chris Morris of South Africa , holds the record for being the highest priced player in IPL when Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 16.25 crores in the IPL 2021.

IPL is a twenty-twenty overs professional cricket league organized by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that was started in India in 2008.
The first season was won by Rajasthan Royals in 2008.
The 14th Season of IPL 2021 was held in the United Arab Emirates which was won by Chennai Super King .
Mumbai Indians is the most successful team in the IPL. It has won the titles 5 times(2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020) while the second most successful team is Chennai Super King which has won it 4 times(2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021).
3. Ramkumar Ramnathan win Bengaluru Tennis double’s title

Ramkumar Ramnathan won the third doubles title of the year when he and Saket Mayeni won the Bengaluru Open ATP Challenger tennis title at Bengaluru.
The Indian Tennis player defeated the French pair of Hugo Grenier and Alexandre Muller in straight sets .

Chun-hsin Tseng of Chinese Taipei (also known as Taiwan ) defeated Croatian Borna Gojo in straight sets.
4. Chelsea wins FIFA Club World Cup 2021

England football club Chelsea, won its first FIFA Club World Cup when it defeated Brazilian football club Palmeiras 2-1 in the final held at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi ,United Arab Emirates on 12 February 2022.

5. India defeat West Indies 3-0 to win ODI series

India has defeated the West Indian Cricket team to win the 3 match One Day International (ODI ) series 3-0.
Due to Covid all the three matches were played at the Narendra Modi cricket stadium, Ahmedabad ,Gujarat . All the three matches were Day/Night matches.
First ODI was held on 6 February 2022. It was won by India by 6 wickets

6. Senegal wins maiden Africa Cup of Nation 2021

Senegal defeated Egypt in a penalty shoot-out to win its first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 on 7 February 2022.
The score in the final match was 0-0 even after extra time. The result was decided by a penalty shoot out which was won by Senegal 4-2 .
The final was played in the Cameroon capital . Yaounde’s Olembé stadium.
The 31st Africa Cup of Nation football tournament was held in Cameroon from 9 January to 7 February 2022.
The Africa Cup of Nations football tournament is held every two years and the first tournament was held in 1957 in Sudan.
Egypt has won the cup a maximum of 7 times .
It is located in Western Africa and is also called the “Gateway of Africa" .

7. India wins its 1000th International ODI cricket match

- The Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma comfortably defeated the West Indian team by six wickets to win its 1000th international ODI (One Day International ) cricket match played at the Narendra Modi stadium ,Ahmedabad on 7 February 2022.
- India now lead the 3 match ODI series 1-0.
- India also became the first cricket playing nation to play 1000 th ODI match in the world .

- India played its first ODI match against England at Leeds in June 1974. Ajit Wadekar was the captain of the Indian side which lost the match.

- India has won two ODI world cups , 1983 played in England and 2011 ,hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh .

8. China won the AFC Women Asian Cup 9th time

The Chinese women's football team defeated the South Korean women's football team 3-2 in the Asian Football Confederations(AFC) women Asian cup final held at the D.Y.Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai on 6 February 2022. This was the 9th title win for the Chinese women's football team also known as “Steel Roses”.
Earlier the host Indian women football team was forced to withdraw from the tournament mid-way after several of their players tested covid positive .
Total 12 teams participated in the tournament which was held from 20 January to 6 February 2022.
The tournament matches were played in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune .
India was hosting the tournament for the second time after 1979.

9. India won the ICC-U19 World Cup 2022

India lifted a record fifth International Cricket Council Under -19 (ICC U19) World Cup title after defeating England by 4 wickets in the final at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, played on 5 February 2022..
The 14th Edition of the ICC U19 World Cup was held in the West Indies from 14 January to 5 February 2022 in a 50 -50 overs format. 16 countries participated in the tournament.
The Indian team captained by Yash Dhull became the fifth Indian captain after Mohammad Kaif(2000), Virat Kohli(2008), Unmukt Chand(2012) and Prithvi Shaw(2018), to hold the winner’s trophy.
The captain of the England team is Tom Prest.
The coach of the Indian team is Hemant Kanitkar.
The player of the final was the India all rounder ,Raj Angad Bawa and The Player of the series was Dewald Brevis of South Africa .
The first U19 World Cup was played in 1988 as McDonald's Bicentennial Youth World Cup, It was hosted by Australia and 8 teams competed in the event . It was won by Australia.
The second world cup was held in South Africa in 1998, under the name of the ICC-U19 world cup. 16 teams participated in the event.
Since then the ICC U-19 world cup is held every two years with 16 teams.
10. Therese Johaug of Norway win the first gold medal of Beijing Winter Olympics

The first gold medal of the Beijing Olympics was won by Norwegian Therese Johaug in the 15-kilometer women skiathlon cross country race.
The silver medal was won by the Russian Natalya Nepryayeva and the Bronze medal was won by Teresa Stadlober of Austria.
